Evaluate cohesive bubble wrap when the wrapping arrangement should stay together without a separate tape closure. The useful trial includes both keeping the wrap in place and removing it in the intended way.
Start with the actual item and its finish. A self-clinging format changes the wrapping method, but it does not establish suitability for every product surface or every handling condition.
Use the documented cohesive format

Keep that exact SKU in the trial. An adhesive bubble product with similar dimensions is a separate specification; matching roll size alone does not establish the same contact behavior.
Draw the wrap and its overlap
In a hypothetical pack, an item is wrapped before being placed into its outer carton. The chosen arrangement overlaps the bubble material so the wrap can be evaluated without a separate strip of tape.

Choose overlap and orientation through the actual product instructions and trial. Do not assume a universal overlap measurement from the roll width or perforation interval.
Keep tape out of the trial if that is the requirement
If the design requirement is no separate tape closure, evaluate that arrangement directly. Adding tape during a difficult sample can hide whether the selected cohesive method meets the requirement.

Inspect removal as well as retention
