Cold Carton Tape: Storage, Application and Service
Specify when the tape encounters cold conditions. A roll stored before use, tape being applied to a carton, and a completed seal entering a cold area are three different stages. A purchase request that says only “freezer tape” leaves those stages unresolved.
Read the temperature statement with its stage
3M's Scotch 311+ technical data sheet describes successful application to fiberboard at 20–50°F and, separately, performance after application below 32°F. For stock storage, it gives 40–80°F and 40–50% relative humidity in the original packaging, away from direct sunlight. These statements describe different conditions; they do not create one continuous universal operating range.
The manufacturer describes the technical data as representative or typical, with suitability dependent on the user's application. Do not turn the below-freezing service wording into an unlimited minimum temperature or permission to apply the tape at any freezer temperature.

Consider two hypothetical jobs. One closes cartons in a conditioned packing room before moving them into cold storage. The other seals cartons within a refrigerated area. Their later destination can be identical while the application conditions differ. Keep separate packing instructions until each process has been evaluated. Include where the carton waits immediately before tape application.
Keep the named tape on the order
T902311S is the Packrift Scotch 311+ listing: clear polypropylene tape with acrylic adhesive, listed at 2 inches × 110 yards and 2 mil, in cases of 36 rolls. Retain that exact SKU when connecting the order to the manufacturer's instructions. A different clear tape is not covered simply because its width matches.
The case quantity belongs on purchasing records; the stage-specific conditions belong on the work instruction. Keep both connected so a replenishment request does not omit the reason this product was selected.
Review changes at the stage they affect
If sealing moves to a colder room, revise the application review even when the completed shipment's destination stays the same. If roll storage moves elsewhere, check that stage independently.
