Extended Tape Liner for Staged Assembly
Choose an extended-liner tape by where the liner will be reached during assembly. If one face is attached before the second surface is joined, the next operator needs a defined way to expose that remaining adhesive face. Tape width alone does not describe that access.
Separate the adhesive strip from its liner
T9634762PK is a double-sided extended-liner tape listed at 1/2 inch by 360 yards, with a 6.0 mil polypropylene film and synthetic rubber adhesive. The case contains two rolls. Its description explicitly identifies an extended liner, but does not give the liner's overall width or the amount of overhang.
T9824602PK is a 1/2 inch by 60 yard double-sided film tape, supplied as two rolls. It has 3.5 mil vinyl film, acrylic adhesive and a listed 3-inch core. Its description does not establish an extended-liner feature. The shared half-inch width does not make the two constructions interchangeable.

Draw the two assembly stages
Mark the first surface, the tape location, the still-covered face and the second mating surface. Then mark where fingers or the intended application equipment would reach the liner. A liner extension concealed behind a fold or under another component may not be accessible at the required step.
For a hypothetical display-card assembly, the first operator positions tape on the backing and the second operator attaches a facing card later. The handoff should identify which face remains covered, where the liner is accessible and when it is removed. This is a proposed sequence to trial; it is not a product guarantee that preapplied tape can wait for any particular period.
Reserve space using an actual liner measurement
As a dimensional example only, a 0.5-inch adhesive strip with a separately confirmed 0.125-inch extension on one side would occupy 0.625 inch across that liner. Those example dimensions are not the measured liner dimensions of either SKU. Measure the actual construction before adding a clearance to a drawing.
Keep the liner accessible without assuming it adds adhesive coverage. Trial the complete sequence on representative materials and confirm the intended applicator separately. Neither the listed core of one tape nor the extended liner of the other establishes compatibility with a particular tool, substrate or line speed.
Specify the handoff, then order
Record the exact SKU, first attachment location, covered face, removal step and measured liner clearance.
