Complete Insulated Kit or Separate Box Liner?

Choose between a complete kit and a separate liner by the components your packing specification requires. A kit can supply several named pieces under one SKU. A liner is a component to combine with a separately selected outer package. Similar words such as insulated do not make those purchases equivalent.

Compare what the order supplies

229C is listed as a 12 x 10 x 9 inch insulated shipping kit, one per case. Its description identifies a pre-assembled white corrugated carton, a molded EPS foam container and a tight-fitting lid. INL1186 is an 11 x 8 x 6 inch box liner with an aluminum-foil exterior and 3/16-inch bubble lining. It is described as a one-piece gusseted design and is supplied as 25 liners per case.

This comparison does not establish that INL1186 fits the carton supplied in 229C. The products differ in listed size and construction, and their dimension labels do not establish a shared usable cavity.

Mark the boundary of the purchased assembly

For a hypothetical packing specification, draw a boundary around everything supplied by the kit SKU. Place any separately required refrigerant, product holder or other packing component outside that boundary on its own material line. Do the same for a liner-based arrangement: the liner line should not silently stand for an outer carton that has not been selected.

This matters when purchasing receives an instruction such as “replace the insulation.” That phrase could mean a complete replacement kit, a liner, or a particular component from an existing assembly. Specify which physical pieces must arrive before choosing the order line.

A component change creates a new arrangement

Replacing a molded EPS container with a flexible foil/bubble liner changes the assembly. It is not a like-for-like replacement merely because both products are described as insulation. The outer carton, closure, usable space and remaining components must be resolved for the proposed arrangement.

Keep the original component specification if the request is an exact reorder. If the request is a redesign, identify it as such so a purchasing substitution does not accidentally become an unreviewed packaging change.

Separate supplied pieces from application approval

The listed components answer what is purchased. They do not establish a holding temperature or duration for the finished pack. Record the required components and exact SKUs first, then evaluate the complete arrangement for its intended application with the appropriate evidence.
