Check a dispenser against the entire label roll and its backing, not just the label's face width. The roll must fit the supported arrangement, the label must present in a usable orientation, and the backing must follow the intended path after labels are removed.
LDM300 is described as a 3-inch all-metal dispenser for wall mounting or counter placement, holding rolls up to 7 inches in diameter. DL1203 is a 3 x 5-inch fluorescent red “Packing List Enclosed” label supplied as 500 labels per roll. These specifications provide starting points; they do not confirm that this roll and dispenser are a compatible pair.

A 3-inch label face may have backing extending beyond its edges. The label may also be presented with a different edge leading. Do not treat the dispenser's 3-inch description and the label's 3-inch dimension as complete evidence of fit.
Confirm how the label will present
Check the intended roll's orientation before mounting it. Identify the backing side, the label face and the edge that will reach the removal position first. Compare those observations with the dispenser's documented loading instructions. Do not invent a threading path from a product photograph or a similar tool.
With a supported setup, observe one label at the removal position. Check whether the user can take the label in the orientation needed for the carton task and whether the remaining strip stays in its intended path. If the arrangement requires reorientation, record that extra handling rather than assuming every 3 x 5 roll behaves the same way.
Plan what happens to the backing
Record where the backing goes as labels are removed. Keep that space distinct from the incoming roll, the carton-loading position and labels awaiting application. Follow the actual dispenser arrangement; the LDM300 description does not establish an automatic liner take-up system.
Consider a hypothetical bench with room for the dispenser but storage directly in the path needed by the emerging backing. The dispenser footprint fits, yet the complete operating arrangement remains unresolved. Move or redesign the surrounding storage as appropriate for the supported setup before judging the station ready.
Evaluate mounting and replenishment together
Wall mounting and counter placement change where the user reaches and where the roll is replaced. Choose the position using the tool's mounting requirements and the actual workstation, then rehearse replenishment without guessing at hardware, clearances or installation capacity.
Save the dispenser SKU, label SKU, confirmed roll dimensions, placement and loading instructions together. If the label supplier or roll specification changes, recheck the pairing even when the printed label face remains 3 x 5 inches.
