Magnetic or Adhesive Label Holders for Rack Reconfiguration?

Decide whether reconfiguration will move the holder itself or only change the insert inside it. A fixed holder can receive new wording without moving. A holder that must shift to another position needs a mounting arrangement selected for that physical move.

This question is separate from whether the label names a shelf, a container or its contents. Once that identity is established, consider what happens to the actual holder when the storage layout changes.

Two holders with the same listed face size

LH115 is a 2 × 6-inch magnetic plastic label holder with a side-load design. It is supplied in a case of 12 with white inserts. LH113 is a 2 × 6-inch clear plastic self-adhesive holder, also side-loading and supplied as 12 holders with white inserts.

The matching listed size and included inserts make the mounting difference clear: one uses magnetic attachment and the other uses adhesive attachment. The descriptions do not establish equal usable print areas or identical pocket geometry, so carry the actual holder specification into the insert design.

Plan a change in shelf spacing

Imagine a hypothetical rack divided into four positions that will become three wider positions. If the old label locations no longer align with the new positions, replacing only the wording leaves the labels physically misplaced. The layout plan must address where each complete holder will go.

A magnetic holder is a candidate for relocation when the intended surface supports its magnetic attachment. Confirm that surface directly; a metallic appearance alone does not establish suitability. Check the holder at both the current position and the planned destination.

For an adhesive holder, decide its final position before application. The self-adhesive designation does not establish that the mounting adhesive can be detached and reused elsewhere. If relocation is required, resolve removal and replacement through the product instructions and the requirements of the rack surface.

Preserve access to the side opening

Both examples load from the side. A post, adjacent holder or other obstruction beside the holder can affect how the insert is changed even when the finished wording is fully visible. Include the insertion and removal path in the mounting plan.

A useful layout records the holder position and the side that remains accessible. This lets later text changes happen without treating the mounting attachment as the routine way to reach the insert.

Specify the two kinds of change

Write separate instructions for replacing information and relocating the holder. State who updates the text, which positions move during the rack change, and how the completed arrangement is checked against the new location map. Select the mounting type for the physical changes you actually expect, while retaining the exact holder SKU for replenishment.
