Frequently asked questions

How do I measure a mailer size?

Mailer sizes are usable inside dimensions, width x length, measured with the mailer flat. The outside runs about half an inch larger, and bubble lining reduces usable space more than poly. Size up if your item is rigid or within half an inch of the stated size.

What do bubble mailer numbers like #0 or #2 mean?

The number is a standard size code that runs from #000 (4 x 8 inch) up to #7 (14.25 x 20 inch). Every carrier and brand uses roughly the same ladder, so a #2 is 8.5 x 12 inch usable regardless of who makes it.

Should I use a mailer or a box?

Mailers win on cost and dimensional weight for soft, flat, or padded-tolerant items; boxes win for rigid, fragile, or stacked contents. The mailer vs box guide walks the decision, and corrugated mailers split the difference for flat rigid items.
