Keep Retail Labels Clear of Tuck-Flap Folds
Place a retail identification label on the panel intended to carry it, and keep its relationship to the opening deliberate. A label that joins a tuck flap to an adjacent panel changes the opening task. Decide whether that connection is wanted before approving the label layout.
Begin with the carton construction

If that label crosses from the main panel onto the moving flap, opening can require separating the label as well as releasing the flap.
If a deliberate closure seal is part of the design, specify it separately. Record the intended opening action and what happens to that seal. An identification label should not become an unintended seal merely because it is larger than the panel chosen for it.

Use the complete product name, variant and identifier in the artwork. A short placeholder can fit while the production text crosses a score line. Show the label edge and the text boundary separately: even when all text stays on one panel, an oversized adhesive label can extend over a moving edge.
Record orientation with an unambiguous reference such as the intended opening end. Include any assembly sequence that determines whether the label is applied before or after loading. Confirm the selected label material on this carton rather than assuming white board establishes compatibility.
Preserve the opening instruction
Retain a diagram of the label on the assembled carton with the selected label dimensions and the intended opening. This establishes the layout to reproduce. It does not certify tamper evidence, adhesive performance or any labeling requirement beyond the information specified for the job.
