Strapping Kit or Coil in a Dispenser Box?

A portable dispenser package and a strapping kit do not necessarily include the same equipment. Read the contents before assuming that a supply box contains a tensioner, cutter or joining hardware.

Portability describes how the supply can be taken to the work. The included components determine what arrives with it. Keep those two questions separate when equipping a new station or replacing stock for one that already has tools.

Compare the stated contents

PSJKIT is a polypropylene strapping kit with 9,000 feet of strap, an integrated tensioner/cutter and 1,000 wire buckles. PSPAKIT is another polypropylene kit, with 3,000 feet of strap, an integrated tensioner/cutter and 300 plastic buckles.

SS12020P is a 300-foot coil of half-inch steel strapping supplied in a built-in portable dispenser box. Its description identifies a painted and waxed oscillated coil. It does not list a tensioner, cutter or seals as included contents.

These are different material systems as well as different supply packages. The comparison does not recommend substituting steel for polypropylene or moving components between the kits. Its purpose is to distinguish a stated equipment-and-consumables kit from a coil's dispensing package.

Separate a new station from a refill request

In a hypothetical new work area, no strapping equipment is already assigned. The buyer must establish the required system and identify all its components. A product called portable should not be treated as a complete equipment list unless its stated contents support that conclusion.

At an existing approved station, the request may instead be for another coil. Purchasing another kit could supply components the station already owns. Determine whether the need is equipment, consumables or both before choosing the order line.

Keep the kit identity after unpacking

If the kit is separated for storage, preserve which tool and buckle type arrived with which kit. A bin labeled only “strapping hardware” can obscure the difference between the wire-buckle and plastic-buckle supplies.

When an included component is replaced, confirm the intended replacement against that exact system. The contents list is not a universal compatibility statement for every strap or fastener with a similar nominal size.

Document unresolved requirements separately

Record the selected kit or coil SKU, its listed contents, equipment already owned and anything still needed for the approved application. Follow the appropriate instructions for using that system. Do not infer a permissible shipment weight, joining method or tool setting from the package being described as complete or portable.
