Tissue Cover or Crinkle Bed for Gift Boxes?
Choose tissue for a folded sheet arrangement and crinkle paper for a loose paper bed. Decide whether the recipient should see the contents immediately or unfold a cover first. A single gift-box design can use both, with a distinct job assigned to each material.
Make that decision before buying by color or package weight. A decorative opening sequence and a protective shipping arrangement are separate requirements. The presentation layout still needs an appropriate outer pack and evaluation for the products being sent.
Start with the opening view
In a hypothetical gift set, a retail carton and a printed card sit inside a presentation box. One design places them visibly on a paper bed. Another folds a tissue sheet over them so the recipient opens the sheet before seeing the set. Both are possible design briefs; neither is a product performance claim.

Keep the materials separate in the specification
T2030J white gift-grade tissue is listed as 20 × 30 inch sheets, with a 10 lb basis-weight designation and 480 sheets per case. The 10 lb figure is a paper specification; it does not mean that the case contains ten pounds of loose fill.
CP40A kraft crinkle paper is listed in a 40 lb case, with interlocking zigzag strips. Here the weight describes the listed quantity of crinkle paper. It is not comparable with the tissue's basis-weight number. Do not choose between these products by dividing 40 by 10.
Write a layout another packer can reproduce
For the tissue version, record which face of the product is up, where the sheet starts, the order of the folds and the card position. Count sheets using the approved arrangement. For the crinkle version, record the visible arrangement around the same product and how the card remains accessible.
For a combined version, photograph the loose paper bed before adding the tissue cover and the completed pack afterward. A finished photograph alone can hide how much loose paper sits below the contents or which item is supporting another.
Check the reveal with the complete set
Ask someone unfamiliar with the design to open a hypothetical trial pack. Note whether they find the card, uncover every item and can remove the contents in the intended order. Adjust placement if a fold conceals a small item or loose paper covers the information intended to be seen first.
Approve the material contact and the complete pack against your own requirements. Sheet size, strip shape and case quantity do not establish transit protection or compatibility with every finish. Save the chosen tissue and crinkle roles alongside the exact SKUs so a reorder preserves the design.
