Tissue Paper Guide: Compare 20 × 30 Inch Case Options

When two tissue products have the same sheet dimensions, compare the remaining specifications and the quantity your packing method consumes. A 20 × 30 inch sheet size alone does not make the products interchangeable.

These two Packrift options share that size but have different listed paper-weight designations and case counts. Start with a physical trial of the intended wrapping, interleaving or presentation arrangement, then translate its sheet use into cases.

Compare the exact tissue products

20 × 30 inch tissue paper options
SKU Sheet size Listed paper specification Sheets per case
T2030J 20 × 30 in White gift-grade tissue; 10 lb basis weight 480
T22030 20 × 30 in Heavy tissue; listed 18 lb designation 2,400

The 10 lb and 18 lb figures identify paper specifications; they are not individual-sheet weights or shipping weights for these cases. Do not turn their ratio into a strength, cushioning or performance comparison. The specification and the result of your packing trial are separate pieces of information.

Decide what one packed order uses

Build the arrangement with the actual product and any retail carton or insert. Count the full sheets removed from stock, including sheets cut into smaller pieces. Record the folds, overlap and number of layers so another packer can reproduce the method.

If part of a sheet is left over, separate reusable offcuts from discarded material. An offcut only reduces future full-sheet demand when it has a defined use and is actually used. Counting every scrap as available inventory can understate the next purchase.

Inspect the result against your own acceptance requirements. Confirm any appearance or product-contact requirement through an appropriate trial or supporting product information. Sheet dimensions and case quantity do not establish resistance to tearing, color transfer, moisture or transit damage.

Worked order example: 700 full sheets required

Suppose an approved method uses two full sheets for each of 350 orders. The production requirement is 350 × 2 = 700 sheets before testing, rejected sheets or a separately chosen reserve.

Case arithmetic for the same 700-sheet requirement
Approved SKU Whole cases Sheets purchased Balance after 700 sheets
T2030J 2 960 260
T22030 1 2,400 1,700

This compares order units, not the suitability or value of one paper versus the other. Choose the product that meets the packing specification first. A closer case count does not compensate for an untested material substitution.

Plan partial-sheet work separately

If the job needs smaller rectangles, create a cutting layout before multiplying sheet counts. The paper-sheet cutting plan shows a simple grid example for these two tissue products and newsprint. The cutting geometry may match while the materials remain different.

Keep the cut size and acceptable sheet condition in the work instruction. Folded, torn or incorrectly cut pieces may not be usable for that job, even when their total area appears sufficient.

Order and reorder the approved specification

Review T2030J for the 480-sheet option and T22030 for the 2,400-sheet option. State the exact SKU, full-sheet requirement and number of cases in the purchase record. For a repeat run, compare actual consumption with the earlier plan before copying the quantity.

Reorder by SKU, or request a tissue quote with the approved paper, sheet size and case requirement.
