Overview
Bulk Packing Supplies for Warehouses & Sellers
This is Packrift's hub for the pack station: wholesale packing supplies that go inside and around the box after you've picked a shipper. Carton-sealing tape, void fill, stretch film, shipping labels, kraft paper, and cushioning — sourced through BOX Partners and shipped from five US warehouses, sold in bulk and by the case pack with no account and no order minimum. If you run a fulfillment operation or pack a growing volume of orders yourself, this is where you stock the consumables that keep a bench moving.
The tiles below link every packing category. Underneath, the copy walks through how to build a repeatable pack station — seal, fill, wrap, label — and how to match each consumable to the weight, fragility, and format of what you ship so the process stays fast and the damage rate stays low.
Shop packing supplies by category
- Carton Sealing Tape — acrylic, hot-melt, and reinforced tape for closing corrugated boxes at any throughput.
- Void Fill — loose fill, paper, and air-based fill to immobilize contents and absorb shock.
- Stretch Film — hand and machine stretch wrap for unitizing and securing pallet loads.
- Shipping Labels — thermal and laser labels for carrier, barcode, and address printing.
- Kraft Paper — void-fill and wrapping paper by the roll for cushioning, interleaving, and dunnage.
- Poly Bags — flat and gusseted bags for bundling, dust protection, and inner packing.
- Bubble Mailers — padded envelopes for small, semi-fragile items that ship at envelope rates.
- Poly Mailers — lightweight, tear-resistant mailers for soft, non-fragile goods.
- Corrugated Boxes — single- and double-wall shipping boxes in standard sizes and case packs.
- Mailer Boxes — self-locking folding cartons for branded, tape-free unboxing.
- VCI Packaging — corrosion-inhibiting films and papers for metal parts and industrial shipments.

Carton-sealing tape: match the adhesive to the box
Tape choice comes down to adhesive type and box weight. Acrylic (water-clear) tape is the general-purpose consumable for light-to-medium boxes; it holds across a wide temperature range and stays clear over time, which is why most pack stations standardize on it. Hot-melt tape has a stronger initial grab and higher holding power, making it the better pick for heavier boxes and high-throughput benches. Reinforced (fiberglass or gummed kraft) tape is for heavy, overstuffed, or export cartons where the closure has to carry real load. Whatever you choose, an H-tape closure — one strip down the center seam and one across each edge seam — is the standard for anything heavy. Standardizing on one or two tapes keeps your dispensers and process consistent and lets you buy in bulk.
Void fill and cushioning: immobilize, don't just fill
Void fill exists to stop the product from moving and to absorb shock, not merely to occupy empty space. Match the fill to the load: kraft paper and crumpled paper for general goods and interleaving, air pillows for lightweight void volume, foam and bubble for fragile or edge-sensitive items, and loose fill for irregular shapes. Fragile and heavy items need cushioning that suspends them off all six walls of the box; light, durable items usually need only enough fill to keep them from shifting. Under-filling causes transit damage; over-filling wastes material and raises the box's dimensional weight, which carriers bill on.
Stretch film: unitize the pallet
Stretch film secures cartons into a single stable unit for palletized shipping and storage. Two things drive the choice: gauge (thickness) and application method. Heavier, denser, or sharp-cornered loads need a higher gauge; light, uniform loads can run thinner film. Hand film is for low-to-moderate pallet volume; machine film is engineered for a stretch wrapper and pays off at higher throughput. Wrap from the base up, anchor the load to the pallet, and overlap each pass so the unit can't shift or telescope in transit. For pallets, pair stretch film with the right corrugated shipping boxes rated for stacking.
Labels: print clean, scan first time
Shipping labels split into thermal and laser/inkjet. Direct-thermal labels print without ribbon and are the standard for carrier and barcode labels at a shipping bench; they're fast and cheap per label but fade with heat and light over long storage. Thermal-transfer and laser labels last longer and suit labels that need to survive warehousing. Whatever the format, the priority is a crisp barcode that scans on the first pass — pick a label size and adhesive rated for your printer and your box surface. See shipping labels for thermal and laser stock.
How to build a repeatable pack station
Seal. Standardize on one or two carton-sealing tapes — acrylic for light-to-medium boxes, hot-melt or reinforced for heavy ones — and one closure method (H-tape for anything heavy). One consistent tape and dispenser setup is faster than switching between adhesives per order.
Fill. Choose void fill by fragility. Non-fragile items in a right-sized box need only kraft paper or modest fill to stop movement; fragile, angular, or heavy items need cushioning that holds them off the walls. Keep two fill types on the bench — one general, one protective — rather than one compromise material.
Wrap. For pallets, unitize with stretch film matched to load weight and volume; use hand film for low volume and machine film once a wrapper is worth it.
Label. Print carrier and barcode labels on thermal shipping labels sized for your printer, and confirm the barcode scans before the box leaves the bench. For metal or corrosion-prone parts, add VCI packaging inside the box; for soft goods, bundle in poly bags or ship in poly mailers.
Packing supplies FAQ
What packing supplies does a busy pack station need?
At minimum: carton-sealing tape, two void-fill types (one general, one protective), and shipping labels. Add stretch film once you ship pallets and kraft paper for wrapping and interleaving. Buying these consumables in bulk keeps the per-unit cost down and avoids mid-shift stockouts.
Which carton-sealing tape should I use?
Acrylic tape for light-to-medium boxes and general use, hot-melt tape for heavier boxes and high throughput, and reinforced tape for heavy, overstuffed, or export cartons. Use an H-tape closure on anything heavy.
What is the difference between hot-melt and acrylic tape?
Hot-melt has a stronger initial grab and higher holding power, better for heavy and high-volume boxes. Acrylic (water-clear) tape holds across a wider temperature range, stays clear over time, and is the general-purpose choice for light-to-medium boxes.
How much void fill should I use?
Enough to immobilize the product and, for fragile items, suspend it off all six walls of the box. Non-fragile items in a right-sized box need only enough fill to stop shifting. Over-filling wastes material and raises dimensional weight.
What gauge of stretch film do I need?
Gauge scales with load: heavier, denser, or sharp-cornered pallets need a higher gauge; light, uniform loads can run thinner film. Use hand film for low-to-moderate volume and machine film once you run a stretch wrapper.
Are thermal or laser shipping labels better?
Direct-thermal labels print without ribbon and are the standard for carrier and barcode labels at a shipping bench — fast and low cost per label. Thermal-transfer and laser labels last longer and suit labels that must survive long warehousing. Prioritize a barcode that scans on the first pass.
Can I buy packing supplies in bulk or by the case pack?
Yes. Consumables are offered by the case pack and in wholesale volumes, and you can request a mixed-pallet or recurring order through the bulk quote page. There is no account requirement and no order minimum.
How do I protect metal parts from rust in transit?
Use VCI (vapor corrosion inhibitor) films, bags, or papers inside the box. VCI packaging releases a protective vapor that guards bare metal against rust and oxidation during transit and storage. See the VCI packaging collection.
