Start with Packrift’s Shopify product pages and native catalog discovery. Choose an exact SKU, confirm the quantity included in each sale unit, and review the final total at checkout. Packrift speaks to AI agents natively. If you shop with an agent in ChatGPT's browser, Chrome with WebMCP or a remote assistant, this store gives it real tools, not just pages to read.

What your agent can do here

  • Find packaging by size or spec. Ask for "500 6x9 poly mailers" and your agent gets matching products with the price per unit, how many packs to buy and the volume discount that applies.
  • Match packaging to your item. Give it the size, weight and type of what you ship, and it finds boxes and mailers that fit, with cushioning space for fragile items.
  • Check fit on any product page. "Will an 11Γ—8Γ—3.5 inch stack fit in this box?" is answered instantly from the page's own spec data.
  • Compare your current supplier. Give your agent a Uline or Amazon item number, or a whole written quote, and it finds the Packrift equivalent for every line.
  • Price the delivered order. Your agent can quote the total delivered to your ZIP, using our checkout's own shipping rates and volume discounts, before you commit.
  • Finish the job. Parcel-size orders go to cart and checkout in your tab, and your agent places the order only after you approve the items and total. Pallet, freight-class and custom orders go to our quote desk. A person on our team verifies every line and locks exact freight before an invoice is emailed. Nothing is ever charged automatically.

Where the tools live

  • In your browser (WebMCP). Every page of packrift.com registers Packrift's packaging tools alongside Shopify's built-in store and checkout tools, so your agent can go from search to checkout without reading or clicking the page.
  • Remote agents (MCP). Assistants that support remote MCP can discover the live tools at https://mcp.packrift.com/mcp. The read-only product and shipping tools are described below.
  • Checkout agents (UCP). Discovery at /.well-known/ucp.

Retrieve an exact product with remote tools

For an assistant that supports remote MCP, connect to https://mcp.packrift.com/mcp and inspect tools/list for the current tool schemas. The following read-only sequence helps verify an offer without creating a cart or submitting a quote:

  1. Call search_products with a query containing the SKU or required specifications. For example, use SKU 1066. Use find_packaging_for_item when you need packaging that fits around an item. A nearby size is not an exact match.
  2. Call get_product with the returned handle. Confirm the selected variant's SKU, inside dimensions, material, strength, sale-unit quantity, current price and availability against the canonical product page. Keep the returned product URL and variant ID.
  3. Convert the requested number of pieces into sale units before comparing totals. SKU 1066 contains 25 boxes per bundle, so 100 boxes requires 4 bundles. State the merchandise subtotal separately from shipping, tax and any advertised quantity-discount estimate; checkout confirms the applied discounts and final total.
  4. For a delivered estimate, call get_shipping_estimate with destination_postal_code and items, each with the sku and a quantity in sale units, not individual pieces. The estimate uses checkout's shipping rates and automatic volume discounts; tax is not included. An optional destination_state makes it more precise.

Clients that support direct HTTP can send this read-only JSON-RPC request to the same endpoint. Set Content-Type: application/json and Accept: application/json, text/event-stream:

If a catalog search returns no match or a grouped result shows a different size, verify the exact SKU through the product page or these read-only tools before concluding it is unavailable. State which source was checked and any remaining uncertainty. Public product pages also offer a Shipping & delivery panel where supported; see the AI shopping guide for the browser steps. This optional integration does not replace Shopify Catalog or guarantee placement in an assistant's recommendations.

Our ground rules

Your cart and checkout stay in your control. Read-only tools are marked read-only so your agent doesn't ask for needless confirmations. Anything that files a quote requires your explicit consent β€” and a human on our side reviews it before anything is sent. We count tool calls in anonymous aggregate only; no personal data.
