Common questions
What does ECT-32 mean and why does it matter?
ECT-32 (Edge Crush Test) indicates the box can withstand 32 lbs of force per linear inch when compressed. This rating ensures safe stacking in warehouses, typically supporting 4-6 boxes high depending on contents weight. Higher ECT = stronger box = greater freight density and pallet stability.
Can these boxes handle heavy loads or multiple-box stacking?
Yes. ECT-32 single-wall construction supports stacking for medium-weight items. For optimal performance, keep total stack weight under 80 lbs and limit stacking to 4-5 boxes high. Verify contents weight against stacking height for your specific application.
How does the 20 x 20 x 36 size reduce freight costs?
The tall-box design accommodates long items without excess width, improving cubic efficiency on trucks and pallets. You ship more units per pallet, reducing per-unit freight cost and carbon footprint, ideal for high-velocity fulfillment operations.
Are these boxes suitable as mailing tube replacements?
Yes. The 20 x 20 x 36" configuration works well for pole-style items (fishing rods, tubing, shelving) that traditionally required mailing tubes. Corrugated offers cushioning, eco-friendly disposal, and cost savings vs. plastic or paper tubes.
