Common questions
What does ECT-32 mean and why does it matter?
ECT (Edge Crush Test) rating measures the vertical stacking strength per linear inch of box edge. ECT-32 supports approximately 32 lbs of pressure per inch, making it suitable for general shipping of items under 50 lbs per box. This rating balances protection cost with performance for most industrial applications.
How many boxes fit on a standard pallet?
A 24 x 18 x 14" box configuration typically allows 20 boxes per pallet layer (two 2x5 arrangements), with 15-20 layers achievable based on weight distribution and stacking height limits, resulting in 300-400 boxes per pallet.
Can these boxes be used for heavy items?
ECT-32 single-wall is rated for moderate weight distribution. For items exceeding 50 lbs or requiring double-wall protection, consider upgrading to ECT-44 or double-wall corrugated. We recommend weight-testing your specific product before bulk ordering.
Are these boxes compostable or just recyclable?
These kraft corrugated boxes are fully recyclable through standard curbside and commercial cardboard recycling programs. They are not certified compostable but will naturally biodegrade in appropriate composting environments. The kraft material supports circular economy goals for sustainability-conscious shippers.
