Common questions
What surfaces does this double-sided foam tape bond to effectively?
The flexible polyethylene foam and rubber adhesive adhere to most clean, dry indoor surfaces including plastics, metals, glass, composite materials, and coated papers. Test on your specific substrate in your intended temperature range (70-100°F) to confirm compatibility before full-scale production use.
Why is 1/16" foam thickness preferred for precision goods packaging?
1/16" thickness provides optimal cushioning density for delicate electronics and precision components, thick enough to absorb vibration and impact during shipping, yet thin enough to maintain compact packaging dimensions and reduce void fill material costs. This density minimizes product movement while maximizing cargo density.
Can this tape be used in temperature-controlled cold chain shipping?
This tape is rated for 70-100°F operating temperatures. For cold chain applications below 70°F, adhesive bond strength may diminish. Consult Packrift technical support for cold-temperature foam tape alternatives suitable for refrigerated or frozen goods.
How many linear feet of tape are included in each 2-pack case?
Each case contains 2 rolls 36 yards = 72 total yards, or approximately 216 linear feet of 1/2" wide double-sided foam tape. For high-volume precision shippers, this provides substantial coverage for component assembly, packaging insert creation, and protective bonding applications.
