Common questions
Will this tape work with my existing tape dispenser?
Yes. The 3" core size is standard across most industrial tape dispensers used in packing lines. Verify your dispenser accepts 3" cores before ordering to ensure use with your case sealing equipment.
How does this tape perform on different substrates?
3M™ 444 bonds aggressively to films, foils, fabrics, and most porous materials. The permanent adhesive on both sides eliminates the need for substrate pre-treatment, reducing line downtime. Test on your specific materials to confirm adhesion performance before full-line deployment.
What temperature conditions affect adhesion and seal strength?
Optimal adhesion occurs between 70°F and 100°F. Outside this range, adhesive tack and bond strength may degrade. Store rolls in climate-controlled areas and apply during normal warehouse conditions to maintain consistent sealing performance.
Why is high initial adhesion important for case sealing?
High initial tack eliminates the need for pressure-setting time, allowing boxes to move immediately through downstream conveyors without premature separation. This maintains line velocity and reduces quality failures from weak or delayed adhesion during shipping and handling.
