SELECTION EXPERT ADVICE

Matching Box Size to Contents Weight
MORE INFO
The most common moving mistake is packing heavy items in large boxes. Books, tools, dishes, and canned goods should always go in small boxes to keep the packed weight manageable and prevent box failure. Light items like pillows, comforters, and large plastic goods are the appropriate contents for extra-large moving boxes.
Single vs Double Wall for Moving
MORE INFO
Single-wall corrugated moving boxes work well for most general household contents. Double-wall construction is worth the additional cost for fragile items, valuable goods, and anything going into long-term storage where stacking pressure over time could compromise a single-wall box.
Quantity Planning for Residential and Office Moves
MORE INFO
A two-bedroom residence typically requires 40 to 60 boxes across sizes. A three-bedroom home runs 60 to 90. Commercial office moves scale with the number of workstations and the volume of filing and equipment. Starting with an accurate box count estimate prevents the mid-pack scramble that delays every move.
Overview

Choose moving boxes around the item as it will be packed. Hanging clothing uses a different arrangement from books, fragile goods or folded garments. Record the required carton format, dimensions, construction and number of cartons before comparing whole purchase units.

The wardrobe example below belongs to this moving-box collection. For general cube and rectangular cartons, follow the separate shipping-box route and compare the exact usable interior and purchase count there.

One current wardrobe format with an established case count.

WARDCOMBO 20 × 20 × 45 in ECT-48; double wall 3 cartons with hanger bars per case

For seven suitable wardrobe cartons, three cases supply nine. Confirm the assembled interior, hanger-bar setup and clothing arrangement before choosing the format. The bar’s capacity cannot be transferred to the carton as a safe payload rating.

Measure the hanging garments and the complete packed arrangement, including the space needed for the bar and closure. Listed dimensions alone do not establish the usable hanging height or assembled clearance. Evaluate a sample when the fit is close.

Plan whole wardrobe cases

Wardrobe case quantity calculator

Seven wardrobe cartons require three cases, supplying nine cartons.

Whole cases = round up(cartons needed ÷ cartons per case). The selected WARDCOMBO supplies three cartons and hanger bars per case.

Keep other carton sizes on separate order lines. For a small household move, compare the number of cartons needed with the full bundle or case you must buy. Include the actual delivery and receiving requirements when comparing total cost.

Pack dense items in manageable quantities using your chosen packing method. Board grade does not establish a safe lifting weight or prove suitability for every moving job. Specify any dividers, cushioning, tape or other required material separately from the carton count.

For a recurring relocation program, record cases needed, destination ZIP, delivery date and receiving access. Confirm the exact product and bar assembly for repeat orders instead of substituting based only on a wardrobe-box label.

Questions before ordering

Are wardrobe cases the same as ordinary shipping-box bundles?

They have a different clothing arrangement and supplied contents. WARDCOMBO supplies three cartons with hanger bars per case; calculate each selected product’s quantity separately.

Does ECT-48 give a safe lifting or contents weight?

It is a board test designation. Confirm the complete package, handling procedure and any required performance evaluation separately.

What to check first
