Steel strapping is the right choice for loads over 2000 lbs, for sharp-edged products that would cut through poly, for loads that need zero elongation to maintain load rigidity, and for high-value shipments where strap failure would result in catastrophic product loss. For loads under 2000 lbs where some elongation is acceptable, polyester strapping often provides equivalent security at lower cost.
