Common questions
How should I judge fit for the 16x14x36" size?
The listed size is 16x14x36" — the gusseted sides fold out so the bag can open to its listed depth and sit around blockier items. The catalog lists inside-usable dimensions of 36" H x 16" W x 14" D, so that measurement is what your item has to fit within.
What does 2 mil film mean in practice?
A mil is one-thousandth of an inch, so 2 mil film is 2/1000" thick — 4 mil film, for example, is twice the film thickness of 2 mil. Heavier film of the same material stands up to punctures and rough handling better; lighter film costs less per bag and packs tighter. This listing's material is specified as 2 Mil Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE).
Is there a drop-in substitute for PB1625?
Not as an exact replacement. The closest sizes in this line are 14x14x36" and 18x14x36" (same 2 mil film), and the same 16x14x36" size is also stocked in 1.5 and 3 mil. Before switching, match the listed dimensions, 2 mil thickness, and case count — then reorder by exact SKU PB1625.
What do I need to seal these, and what does a full order look like? And can I use them for food?
These are open-top bags — close them with a heat sealer, bag tape, twist ties, or staples, whichever fits your workflow. This listing is sold as one case of 250 bags — roughly $0.54 per bag at the current case price (confirm the live price before ordering). Orders ship from Packrift's five US warehouse regions (Central IL, NE PA, S TX, SE GA, and W CA); delivery options and timing are shown at checkout. On food use: the film is 2 Mil Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE), a material commonly used in food packaging, and the manufacturer spec sheet for this item lists "Regulatory Compliance: FDA and USDA Approved". Food-contact compliance is still certified per product lot, so check the spec sheet or contact us for lot documentation before direct food contact.
