BEFORE YOU ORDER
Three measurements.
Three different jobs.
For parts, long items and products that vary in length, a tubing roll lets you cut each piece to the length you specify.
-
01
Width is the tubing size
Use the tubing width your pack-out needs. A product’s diameter alone is not a tubing width. Leave room for the item and handling, and check the fit with your packing process.
-
02
Mil is film thickness
One mil is 0.001 inch. The planner compares 2 mil and 4 mil film. Thickness alone does not establish suitability for sharp edges, weight, food contact or a particular sealing machine.
-
03
Cut length determines yield
Add your closure or sealing allowance to the length you need. The calculator counts only complete cuts from each roll and then rounds your order up to whole rolls.
SEE THE MATH
A 5,000-piece packing run.
With 12-inch cuts and 5% waste, a 2,150-foot roll provides an estimated 2,042 complete cuts. You would plan for 3 rolls.
A 1,075-foot roll under the same assumptions provides 1,021 cuts, so you would plan for 5 rolls. Choose thickness for your application before comparing quantities.

Choose with the details in hand.
For a delivered quote, send the SKU, number of rolls, destination ZIP and required date.
Is this tubing already made into bags?
No. These are continuous tubing rolls. You cut the length you need and close the ends using a method appropriate for your material, equipment and application. The listed price is for one roll, not for individual finished bags.
Does the planner include sealing allowance?
Only the allowance you include in your total cut length. For example, if your process needs a 12-inch cut to make a shorter usable bag, enter 12 inches. The separate waste percentage reduces the usable footage for setup, trimming and rejects.
Does a 4 mil roll contain twice as much tubing?
No. Mil measures thickness. In this selected range, each 2 mil roll is 2,150 feet long and each 4 mil roll is 1,075 feet long. Always check the length for the exact SKU.
Is this heat-shrink, anti-static or VCI tubing?
The planner covers standard clear polyethylene tubing. It does not select heat-shrink, anti-static, static-shielding or VCI packaging. Those applications need a separate specification and an appropriate product.
Is the calculation a price or availability guarantee?
No. It is a quantity estimate based on consistent cut lengths and your chosen waste allowance. Current product prices exclude delivery and applicable tax. A bulk quote checks the selected rolls, order quantity and delivery requirements.
