Sustainability
Packaging always has a footprint. Packrift's role is to make material choices easier to compare and harder to misunderstand.
We sell practical shipping and warehouse supplies, not a sustainability certification. The useful work is in clearer specs, better sizing decisions, and honest end-of-life guidance by material.
What we control
- Clear material specs. Product pages list details such as corrugated grade, paper type, mil thickness, liner style, tape type, pack quantity, and dimensions when that data is available.
- Right-size selection. Box, mailer, and bag size guides help buyers avoid oversized packaging, extra void fill, and unnecessary dimensional weight.
- Plain-language tradeoffs. Paper, corrugated, plastic film, bubble cushioning, and mixed-material mailers do not recycle the same way. We avoid treating every material as equally "green."
- US fulfillment network. Orders ship through regional US facilities in California, Texas, Illinois, Georgia, and Pennsylvania, with ship-from location based on SKU availability and delivery ZIP.
Material guidance
Corrugated boxes and paper-based mailers are generally the easiest packaging formats for buyers to understand and recycle when they are clean, dry, and accepted by the local recycling program. Plastic films such as poly bags and stretch film often require store drop-off or commercial film recycling. Bubble mailers, laminated mailers, and mixed-material packaging are harder to recycle and should be chosen for protection needs, not because they sound sustainable.
For deeper comparisons across common packaging materials, see the Packrift sustainable packaging scorecard.
What we do not claim
- We do not claim every product is recyclable, compostable, biodegradable, or carbon neutral.
- We do not sell carbon offsets at checkout.
- We do not use third-party sustainability logos unless Packrift has actually earned and can document them.
Specific SKU questions
If you need recycled-content details, country-of-origin information, food-contact suitability, or supplier documentation for a specific SKU, email support@packrift.com. If we do not have the documentation, we will say so instead of guessing.
