About this item
SKU T9674713PKY — 36 yds × 36 yds, 5.2 Mil, Yellow. Sold as a case of 3, shipped from US warehouses.
Minimize production downtime with this 2 " x 36 yard yellow vinyl safety tape (3M 471) that adheres instantly to most surfaces without dripping or cleanup. Each case contains 3 rolls of 5.2 mil premium-grade tape, engineered for case sealing, color-coding, and splicing on high-speed packing lines. Rubber adhesive bonds on contact while durable vinyl backing resists moisture, chemicals, and abrasion for consistent performance.
Common questions
Will this tape stick to cardboard and kraft paper without surface preparation?
Yes. 3M 471's rubber adhesive bonds on contact to most surfaces including cardboard, kraft paper, corrugated, and plastic. No primer, surface cleaning, or drying time is required, the tape delivers instant hold, making it ideal for continuous-run packing lines where speed is critical.
How does this tape perform in cold storage or outdoor environments?
The 5.2 mil vinyl backing is formulated to resist moisture, weathering, temperature fluctuations, and chemical exposure. It maintains reliable adhesion and color permanence in cold warehouses, refrigerated shipping, and outdoor storage without degradation or discoloration.
Can I use this tape in a standard desk dispenser or do I need a powered dispenser?
3M 471 works with both manual hand-held dispensers and powered automatic dispensers. The 2" width fits most industry-standard dispenser heads. For high-volume packing lines, we recommend a powered dispenser to reduce operator fatigue and increase throughput consistency.
Will the yellow color fade if exposed to sunlight or fluorescent lighting?
No. 3M 471 uses permanently locked-in pigments that resist fading under continuous UV exposure, fluorescent lighting, and weather. The bright yellow remains vibrant throughout the product's service life, ensuring consistent color-coding visibility for sorting, identification, and compliance.
