About this item
SKU VHB595234R — 5 yds × 5 yds, 45.0 Mil, Dark Gray.
3M VHB 5952 conformable tape delivers permanent bonding to mixed substrates without rivets or fasteners. 45-mil thickness handles extreme temperatures (-40°F to 250°F) and resists moisture, solvent, and UV. Use for case sealing and irregular surface applications on high-speed packing lines.
Common questions
How does VHB™ Tape perform on corrugated cardboard with irregular surfaces?
The 45-mil conformable foam core flexes and fills surface irregularities on warped or textured cartons, creating contact and bond strength compared to rigid fasteners or standard tapes. This eliminates gaps that reduce seal integrity and rework caused by poor case closure.
Is this tape compatible with standard packing line dispensers?
Yes. The red polyethylene liner and 3/4" width work with most manual and automated tape dispensers used in case sealing stations. Verify your dispenser's width tolerance (typically 1" maximum) before ordering.
What's the cure time before cases can be stacked or shipped?
VHB™ Tape achieves handling strength (approximately 50% of final bond) within minutes at room temperature. Full strength develops over 24 hours. In cold environments or on porous surfaces, allow extended contact time for optimal adhesion.
Can this tape bond to plastic film or coated substrates?
Yes. The dual acrylic adhesive specifically bonds to plastics, painted surfaces, and powder-coated materials common in mixed-material cases. Test on your specific substrate or coating to confirm adhesion performance before full-line deployment.
