Common questions
Will this tape work on wet or damp surfaces?
Yes. Gorilla® Clear Repair tape is water resistant and adheres effectively to dry surfaces that may later encounter moisture, creating a waterproof seal. For optimal adhesion, apply to clean, dry surfaces and allow 24 hours for full cure.
How does this compare to standard clear packing tape?
At 7 mil thickness, Gorilla® Clear Repair tape is significantly thicker and more durable than standard 2 mil packing tape, offering holding strength, UV resistance, and temperature tolerance across a wider range of industrial applications.
Can this tape be used for outdoor shipping boxes?
Absolutely. The UV-resistant formula won't yellow or degrade when exposed to sunlight, making it ideal for shipping boxes that sit in storage yards, on loading docks, or during outdoor transport.
Does the notched edge design really make a difference?
Yes. The notched edge allows facility workers to tear tape cleanly by hand without scissors or knives, increasing packing speed, reducing safety risks, and eliminating the need for additional cutting tools on your production line.
