Common questions
How much vertical space do I save when nesting these containers?
Nested containers compress to approximately 40% of their stacked height when empty, dramatically reducing storage footprint. A pallet of nested containers (standard 50-unit load) occupies roughly 60% less vertical space than traditional rigid bins, translating to immediate warehouse capacity gains.
Will lids stay attached during stacking operations?
Yes, containers stack securely with or without lids. The textured bottom and rigid sidewalls lock stack integrity. Optional lids (SKU BINS158) feature friction-fit sealing that remains secure during multi-level stacking, though we recommend removing lids during high-frequency nested storage cycles for maximum space efficiency.
What's the maximum safe stacking weight per container?
Each container safely holds up to 40 lbs of distributed load when stacked 4 units high. Maximum stack height is 6 containers (approximately 59") for forklift operations. Actual capacity varies by load type, consult our packaging specialist for your specific product weight and dimensions.
Are these containers compatible with existing pallet racking systems?
Absolutely. The 20 7/8" x 18 1/4" footprint fits standard pallet positions and industrial shelving. The non-slip bottom prevents drift on inclined or horizontal storage surfaces, eliminating the need for additional containment hardware and reducing overall material handling time.
