Common questions
Why choose clay desiccants over silica gel for my products?
Activated clay desiccants excel in industrial applications requiring high adsorption capacity across broad humidity ranges (20-80% RH) while maintaining cost efficiency. Clay is ideal when direct food and pharmaceutical contact is necessary, as these packets meet FDA specifications that some silica alternatives cannot match.
How many packets do I need to protect my shipment?
Each packet protects 0.28 cubic feet. Calculate your shipment volume in cubic feet and divide by 0.28 to determine required packet quantity. For example, a 5.6 cubic foot container requires 20 packets. Consider humidity levels and storage duration when determining coverage.
Are these packets compliant with FDA regulations?
Yes. These 1" x 31/2" x 1/4" Tyvek® clay desiccant packets meet FDA specifications for direct contact with food and pharmaceuticals, ensuring regulatory compliance for manufacturers and distributors serving these industries.
What humidity range do these desiccants perform optimally in?
Activated clay desiccant filling performs optimally under normal packaging conditions with relative humidity ranging from 20-80% RH. They effectively absorb moisture to prevent corrosion, degradation, and product damage throughout storage and transport in this range.
