Common questions
Can I cut these foam sheets to custom dimensions?
Yes. These convoluted foam sets are easily customizable with standard cutting tools. The egg-crate structure cuts cleanly, allowing you to create fitted inserts for irregular-shaped items or compartmentalized layouts.
What's the difference between the 3/4" base and the convoluted top?
The 3/4" base provides rigid structural support and prevents items from contacting box surfaces, while the convoluted (egg-crate) top layer maximizes shock absorption. Together, they create a two-stage protection system ideal for multi-drop shipments.
How much weight does this foam add to a shipment?
Polyurethane convoluted foam is extremely lightweight, approximately 1.5-2 lbs per set. This minimizes dimensional weight charges while delivering cushioning comparable to heavier alternatives.
Is charcoal foam suitable for food or sensitive product packaging?
Charcoal polyurethane foam is non-toxic and safe for most applications. For food contact, verify compliance with FDA regulations. For pharmaceuticals or electronics, the closed-cell structure resists moisture and static generation.
