Common questions
What's the difference between usable length and actual length?
The 60" usable length is the interior space available for your contents. Actual tube length is approximately 61-62" to accommodate the overlapped spiral construction and end cap fit. This ensures your items don't extend beyond the protective tube walls.
Can these tubes be used for long-term document storage?
Yes. The kraft fibreboard is acid-free and suitable for archival storage of blueprints, drawings, and documents. The rigid construction prevents warping and crushing, maintaining document integrity in storage or transit.
Are replacement end caps available separately?
Yes. Additional 3" end caps are available for purchase separately (SKU: PMTCAP3-C820). This allows you to re-use tubes or repair damaged caps without replacing entire tubes.
What weight and types of items can these tubes safely protect?
The heavy-duty 3-ply construction safely accommodates rolled blueprints, architectural drawings, posters, fine art prints, and documents up to approximately 15-20 lbs per tube. The spiral wound design distributes pressure evenly, protecting contents from crushing during stacked shipping.
