Common questions
How much usable room does the 4x8" size really have?
The listed size is 4x8". The catalog lists inside-usable dimensions of 4" W x 8" H, so that measurement is what your item has to fit within.
Is 6 mil the right thickness for my use?
A mil is one-thousandth of an inch, so 6 mil film is 6/1000" thick — 4 mil film, for example, is twice the film thickness of 2 mil. Heavier film of the same material stands up to punctures and rough handling better; lighter film costs less per bag and packs tighter. This listing's material is specified as 6 Mil Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE).
Is there a drop-in substitute for PB3865?
Not as an exact replacement. The closest sizes in this line are 4" x 6" and 4" x 10" (same 6 mil film), and the same 4x8" size is also stocked in 2 mil. Before switching, match the listed dimensions, 6 mil thickness, closure type, and case count — then reorder by exact SKU PB3865.
Do these bags reseal, and how do they arrive? And can I use them for food?
The closure is listed as Full-Width Single Track Zipper, so the bag closes without separate tape or heat. This listing is sold as one case of 1,000 bags — roughly $0.11 per bag at the current case price (confirm the live price before ordering). Orders ship from Packrift's five US warehouse regions (Central IL, NE PA, S TX, SE GA, and W CA); delivery options and timing are shown at checkout. On food use: the film is 6 Mil Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE), a material commonly used in food packaging, but food-contact compliance is certified per product lot. Check the spec sheet or contact us for documentation before direct food contact.
