Common questions
How much usable room does the 12x24" size really have?
The listed size is 12x24". Plan for contents slightly smaller than the nominal size — the usable interior runs a bit under the listed measurement once the bag takes shape around what you load into it.
What does 6 mil film mean in practice?
A mil is one-thousandth of an inch, so 6 mil film is 6/1000" thick — 4 mil film, for example, is twice the film thickness of 2 mil. Heavier film of the same material stands up to punctures and rough handling better; lighter film costs less per bag and packs tighter.
Is there a drop-in substitute for PB8456?
Not as an exact replacement. The closest sizes in this line are 12x20" and 12x26" (same 6 mil film), and the same 12x24" size is also stocked in 1 and 1.5 mil. Before switching, match the listed dimensions, 6 mil thickness, and case count — then reorder by exact SKU PB8456.
How do I close these bags, and how do they ship? And can I use them for food?
These are open-top bags — close them with a heat sealer, bag tape, twist ties, or staples, whichever fits your workflow. This listing is sold as one case of 250 bags — roughly $0.43 per bag at the current case price (confirm the live price before ordering). Orders ship from Packrift's five US warehouse regions (Central IL, NE PA, S TX, SE GA, and W CA); delivery options and timing are shown at checkout. On food use: poly film like this is commonly used in food packaging, but food-contact compliance is certified per product lot. Check the spec sheet or contact us for documentation before direct food contact.
