Common questions
Will Scotch® 371 work on my existing tape dispenser?
Yes. The 3" cardboard core is the industry standard and compatible with virtually all handheld and powered box sealing dispensers, including Scotch® systems and most competitor models. Verify core diameter (3") against your dispenser specifications to ensure proper feed.
Does this tape maintain adhesion if boxes are stored in cold or humid conditions?
Absolutely. The hot melt rubber adhesive formulation and polypropylene backing resist moisture, temperature fluctuations, and environmental stress. Your sealed cartons stay secure from packing through delivery, even in uncontrolled warehouse or outdoor storage.
How much tape do I get per case, and what's the typical cost per roll?
Each case contains 6 rolls at 55 yards per roll (330 total yards per case). With 1.9 mil thickness, this provides substantial volume for high-speed lines while maintaining cost efficiency, approximately 55 linear feet per roll when used for standard 12" box closure.
Can I use this tape for splicing and repair, or just initial case sealing?
Scotch® 371 performs excellently for both primary sealing and splicing tasks. The conformable backing and consistent adhesive make it ideal for rejoining torn tape on dispensers, reinforcing weak seals, and securing bundled multiple cartons, reducing downtime between cases.
