Common questions
How does the misalignment design prevent tampering?
The pre-printed security message is positioned such that proper seal alignment displays the warning clearly. Any attempt to peel, remove, or re-seal the tape will cause the message to misalign or tear, making tampering immediately visible to receivers. This creates an unmistakable tamper-evidence indicator without additional inspection equipment.
Will this tape adhere properly to our recycled fiberboard boxes?
Yes. 3M™ 3199 is specifically engineered with high-adhesion acrylic backing to bond reliably to recycled paper liners and fiberboard substrates. The 2.0 mil thickness provides holding power even on boxes with varying surface porosity, ensuring consistent dispenser performance across your packing line.
Is this tape compatible with standard 2-inch tape dispensers?
Yes. Each roll features a standard 2-inch core that fits all industry-standard manual and automatic tape dispensers. The 110-yard length per roll reduces changeover frequency, improving line efficiency and reducing labor during production runs.
Can we use this tape on food-contact packaging?
Yes. 3M™ 3199 holds FDA approval for indirect food contact, meaning it can seal food packaging boxes without direct product contact. This compliance eliminates regulatory concerns and expands your tape's applicability across food distribution, fresh produce, and beverage supply chains.
