Common questions
Will this black tape work with my existing tape dispenser?
Yes, this 3" x 55 yard tape is compatible with all standard carton sealing dispensers designed for 3-inch width rolls. The acrylic adhesive formula won't gum up dispenser rollers or create buildup. We recommend cleaning dispensers monthly for optimal performance on high-volume lines.
How does acrylic adhesive compare to hot-melt for color-coded systems?
Acrylic adhesive provides performance for color-coded logistics: it maintains consistent seal strength across temperature variations, doesn't degrade under sunlight during storage, and won't attract dust or contamination that interferes with color visibility. Hot-melt works better for maximum instant grab, but acrylic excels in professional warehouse environments.
What's the minimum hold time before shipping sealed cartons?
This tape reaches 90% holding strength within 24 hours and full strength within 72 hours at standard temperatures (68-72°F). For immediate shipment, allow minimum 4 hours before transport. Cold storage facilities may require extended dwell time; test in your specific environment.
Can I use black tape exclusively or do I need multiple colors?
Black tape alone works for standard sealing, but effective color-coding requires at least 2-3 colors for your logistics workflow (e.g., black for standard, red for hot shipments, blue for 2nd day). We offer this same tape in Green, Red, Orange, Yellow, Blue, and White for flexible system design without changing suppliers.
