Common questions
Will this tape work with my automatic box sealing dispenser?
Yes. The 3" width and standard 110-yard roll length are compatible with most industrial tape dispensers used on packing lines. The polypropylene backing feeds smoothly through hot-melt adhesive applicators without jamming or adhesive buildup. Verify your specific dispenser model supports standard 3" rolls before ordering.
How does the 1.9 mil thickness compare to other box sealing tapes?
1.9 mil provides the ideal balance between strength and cost-effectiveness for high-volume packaging. It's thicker than lightweight tapes (1.6 mil), offering adhesion and durability, while remaining more economical than heavy-duty 2.0+ mil tapes. Use for standard carton weights and typical warehouse conditions.
What makes Scotch® 371 resistant to peeling and cracking?
The hot melt rubber adhesive creates a permanent bond that doesn't embrittle or lose tackiness over time. Combined with the flexible polypropylene backing, it conforms to box flaps and seams without stress cracking, even in temperature fluctuations common in warehouses and shipping vehicles.
Is this tape waterproof for outdoor storage or shipping?
Yes. Scotch® 371 is fully waterproof and weather-resistant, protecting sealed boxes from moisture, humidity, and UV exposure. The polypropylene backing and rubber adhesive prevent water penetration, making it suitable for outdoor staging areas, ocean/rail transport, and climate-variable storage environments.
