Common questions
Will this tape work with my existing tape dispenser equipment?
Yes. This Scotch® 375 tape features a standard 3-inch core that is compatible with all major handheld and automated tape dispensers used in packing operations. The polypropylene backing's conformability ensures smooth feed-through without jamming or adhesive buildup on dispenser rollers.
How does the 3.1 mil thickness impact sealing performance versus thinner alternatives?
The 3.1 mil thickness provides tear resistance and puncture protection compared to standard 2.2 mil tapes, reducing rejects from premature seal failure during handling. For high-volume lines, this translates to fewer retapes, faster throughput, and lower cost-per-sealed-box despite higher per-roll material cost.
Does this tape perform reliably on waxed or glossy corrugated boxes?
Specifically designed as a 'problem solver' for difficult packaging applications, the synthetic rubber adhesive system bonds aggressively to challenging surfaces including waxed, glossy, and moisture-exposed substrates. The water-resistant film backing adds security for boxes exposed to humidity or cold storage conditions.
What's the adhesion difference between Scotch® 375 and basic hot-melt tapes?
Scotch® 375 uses a pressure-sensitive synthetic rubber adhesive that achieves immediate grab and long-term holding power without heat activation, eliminating dispenser heating delays and energy costs. It maintains consistent adhesion across temperature variations, outperforming hot-melt alternatives in cold storage and variable-climate environments.
