Common questions
Will this tape work with our existing carton sealing dispensers?
Yes. The 3M™ 8919 ships on a standard core diameter that fits most industrial tape dispensers. Verify your dispenser's core compatibility specifications (typically 3-inch core) before ordering to ensure use with your packing line.
Does this tape leave adhesive residue or stains on appliance finishes?
No. The synthetic rubber adhesive is specifically formulated for clean removal and stain resistance on most finishes, making it ideal for appliance manufacturing where surface quality is critical. Always test on your specific material first to confirm compatibility.
How does the 7.0 mil thickness compare to standard carton tape?
At 7.0 mil, this polyester-backed strapping tape is significantly thicker and more durable than standard 2-3 mil carton sealing tape, offering hold strength and resistance to moisture, abrasion, and scuff damage, essential for heavy appliance shipments.
What's the low-stretch benefit for my packing operation?
Low-stretch construction maintains consistent tension and tack throughout the sealing process, reducing application inconsistencies and dispenser jams. This minimizes waste and keeps your packing line running efficiently without frequent tape adjustments or replacements.
