Common questions
How much will switching to 893 Filament Tape reduce my tape costs per box?
High tensile strength means operators use significantly less tape length per seal, typically 15-25% less than standard tape. Combined with lower roll count per case, this reduces cost per application while maintaining or improving seal integrity on cartons up to 100+ lbs.
Is this tape compatible with my existing filament tape dispenser?
Yes. Scotch® Filament Tape 893 works with all standard filament tape dispensers including Scotch handheld and bench-top models. Check our Filament Tape Dispensers collection to confirm your current equipment or upgrade to a higher-speed model for maximum line efficiency.
Will 893 hold up in humid or wet shipping environments?
Absolutely. The 6.0 mil polypropylene backing with glass reinforcement provides excellent moisture and humidity resistance, preventing adhesive degradation or film separation during transit through varying climate conditions.
What's the difference between 1" and wider filament tape widths?
The 1" width is ideal for standard carton sealing and bundling where single-line application is sufficient. Wider options (2") are used for large boxes or maximum reinforcement. Choose 1" for most packing lines to balance speed, cost, and holding power.
