Common questions
Will this tape work with my existing filament tape dispenser?
Yes. Scotch® Filament Tape 897 is compatible with all standard filament tape dispensers, including Scotch® and most models. Verify your dispenser uses 1" core compatibility before ordering. See our Filament Tape Dispensers section for verified options.
How much tape coverage do I get per case?
Each case contains 36 rolls of 60 yards (2,160 total yards per case). At typical sealing widths of 2-3 inches, this covers approximately 700-1,050 cartons, depending on box size and sealing pattern.
Does this adhesive work on wet or damp cartons?
The synthetic rubber adhesive maintains excellent moisture and humidity resistance. However, for optimal adhesion, surfaces should be clean and dry. Test on damp surfaces in humid environments to confirm performance meets your line specifications.
What makes filament tape better than standard carton sealing tape for my operation?
Glass yarn reinforcement provides tensile strength and tear resistance, reducing breakage during high-speed application. The 6.0 mil thickness with minimal waste per seal reduces material costs while delivering stronger, more durable case closures than standard polypropylene tape.
