Common questions
Will this tape work with our existing filament tape dispensers?
Yes. Scotch® Filament Tape 898 is compatible with all standard filament tape dispensers. The 2-inch width and standard roll diameter fit universally. Review our Filament Tape Dispensers section for optimal equipment selection and setup guidance.
How does the aggressive adhesive formula benefit our packing line?
The synthetic rubber adhesive provides balanced high-adhesion performance that grips immediately on contact, reducing seal failures and rework. Long-term holding power ensures cartons remain sealed through handling, shipping, and storage without adhesive degradation.
Can this tape handle moisture and outdoor storage conditions?
Yes. The 6.6 mil transparent polypropylene backing resists moisture, abrasion, and scuff damage, making it suitable for sealed cartons exposed to warehouse humidity, refrigerated environments, and variable humidity conditions without adhesive compromise.
What applications use the 'L' and 'C' clip closure recommendations?
L' clip closures reinforce the top tape line of cartons for stacking strength, while 'C' clip reinforcements add structural support to box flaps and edges. The glass filament reinforcement provides the tensile strength needed for these high-stress sealing patterns on automated lines.
