Common questions
Will 3M™ 8981 tape work with my existing carton sealing dispenser?
Yes. The 2" width and standard roll core dimensions are compatible with virtually all commercial tape dispensers used in packing line operations, including both manual and automatic systems.
How does this tape perform on recycled fiberboard compared to virgin kraft?
The synthetic rubber adhesive and glass yarn reinforcement provide excellent adhesion on both recycled and printed fiberboard surfaces. Its grip on dusty or slightly uneven recycled carton surfaces makes it a preferred choice for sustainability-focused operations.
What makes the 6.6 mil thickness important for case sealing?
The 6.6 mil reinforced construction delivers higher tensile strength and puncture resistance during application and transit, reducing case failures and customer returns while maintaining speed on high-volume lines.
Is this tape resistant to temperature and humidity changes?
Yes. The glass yarn-reinforced backing and synthetic rubber adhesive provide excellent abrasion and moisture resistance, maintaining consistent holding power across varying warehouse and shipping conditions.
