Common questions
Is 3M 101+ tape compatible with standard tape dispensers on packing lines?
Yes. The 1" width and standard core diameter make this tape compatible with most automatic and manual case sealing dispensers. The crepe paper backing feeds smoothly without jamming, reducing downtime on your packing line.
Will this tape hold sealed cases during warehousing and shipping?
Absolutely. The rubber-based adhesive creates strong initial tack and sustained adhesion for light-duty case sealing. For standard indoor environments and typical shipment timelines, this tape reliably secures case flaps throughout the fulfillment process.
How does the 5.1 mil thickness compare to heavier masking tapes?
The 5.1 mil gauge provides an excellent balance of cost efficiency and performance for light-duty applications. It delivers sufficient adhesion strength for temporary holding and sealing without the premium cost of tapes, maximizing your packaging budget.
What temperature conditions can this tape withstand?
This tape maintains adhesive integrity up to 150°F for 30 minutes, which covers standard warehouse storage, vehicle transport, and most indoor handling scenarios. For environments exceeding these conditions, upgraded 3M tapes are available.
