Common questions
Will this tape work with my existing tape dispenser and packing line equipment?
Yes. The 1" width and 5.2 mil thickness of the 3M 2214 are industry-standard specifications compatible with virtually all manual and automatic tape dispensers used on packing lines. The crepe paper backing feeds smoothly through pressure-sensitive dispensing heads without jamming or splitting.
Does this tape maintain adhesion in warm warehouse environments?
Absolutely. The rubber adhesive formulation is rated to withstand temperatures up to 150°F for 30 minutes, which covers typical packing and shipping conditions. For extended high-temperature exposure beyond 30 minutes, consult our technical data sheet or contact your Packrift specialist.
What makes the crepe paper backing better for case sealing than standard masking tape?
Crepe paper's corrugated surface provides grip and corner conformability, essential when sealing irregular box shapes or bundling varied carton sizes. This design also reduces slippage during high-speed conveyor operations and maintains seal integrity through the supply chain.
Is bulk ordering this case (36 rolls) cost-effective for continuous packing operations?
Yes. Case purchasing of the 3M 2214 offers the best per-roll pricing and ensures consistent supply for high-volume operations. A single case covers substantial daily use on most packing lines, reducing reorder frequency and minimizing downtime from tape changeover.
