Common questions
What adhesion strength does 3M™ 2380 tape provide, and will it damage my substrate?
This tape delivers 39 ounces per inch of width adhesion to steel, strong enough for secure masking without substrate damage when properly applied and removed. The saturated mini-crepe backing is specifically designed for industrial surfaces and won't leave residue on painted, primed, or bare metal finishes.
Can I use this tape in high-temperature oven bake operations?
Yes. 3M™ 2380 is rated for temperatures up to 325°F for 30 minutes, making it suitable for both air-dry and oven-bake paint finishing processes. The heat-resistant saturant prevents edge bleed and maintains adhesion throughout the curing cycle.
How should I dispense and apply this tape for optimal line quality?
The 1" x 60 yard roll works with standard tape dispensers used on packing lines. Apply at room temperature for best adhesion, maintain consistent tension during application, and allow 15 minutes for full tack development before painting. The 7.5 mil thickness provides structural integrity without wrinkling or stretching.
Why order by the case instead of individual rolls?
Ordering a case of 36 rolls (SKU T9352380) reduces per-roll cost, ensures consistent tape quality across production runs, and minimizes supply chain interruptions. For high-volume masking operations, case purchasing improves inventory efficiency and lowers total cost of ownership.
