Common questions
How long can this tape remain on surfaces without leaving residue?
ScotchBlue Original removes cleanly for up to 14 days of standard masking, or up to 7 days when exposed to UV conditions. The controlled adhesion (20 oz/inch on steel) ensures reliable hold without damage upon removal.
Is this tape compatible with standard packaging line dispensers?
Yes. The 3-inch width and standard core diameter make this tape compatible with most industrial masking tape dispensers. Easy-tear design and controlled unwind reduce jam risk and increase line efficiency.
What temperature range can this tape withstand?
ScotchBlue Original performs up to 200°F for durations of 30 minutes. For extended thermal exposure, verify specific temperature requirements with the technical data sheet provided.
Why choose 5.0 mil thickness for masking operations?
5.0 mil crepe paper provides optimal balance between tensile strength (24 lbs/inch), elongation (6%), and adhesion without over-tacking. This thickness ensures clean lines on complex surfaces while maintaining easy removal and minimizing adhesive transfer to equipment.
