Common questions
Will this tape work with my existing tape dispenser on the packing line?
Yes. This 1/4" Kapton® tape ships on a standard dispenser-compatible core that fits most industrial tape applicators and hand-held dispensers used in packing and assembly operations.
Does the silicone adhesive leave residue on circuit boards or sensitive components?
No. The silicone adhesive is specifically formulated to leave zero residue upon removal, making it safe for use on delicate electronics, coated surfaces, and components that require clean post-process inspection.
What temperature range should I expect during wave soldering and powder coating?
This tape maintains full integrity up to 500°F, providing reliable protection during wave soldering (typically 250-260°C / 480-500°F) and high-temperature powder coating curing processes without adhesive degradation or off-gassing.
Can I seal cases with this tape on high-speed packaging lines?
While Kapton® tape excels at thermal masking and insulation, it is optimized for high-temperature component protection rather than case sealing. For case sealing applications, consider our polypropylene or reinforced water-activated tapes designed for box closure and carton sealing.
