Common questions
Will this tape work with my existing dispenser equipment?
Yes. The 3/4" width and 2.0 mil gauge are standard hand roll dimensions compatible with most industrial tape dispensers used in packaging lines. The densified kraft liner feeds smoothly without snagging. Always verify your dispenser's width specifications before ordering.
How does this perform for wet grab and flying splice starting?
The 3M™ 9498 is specifically engineered for excellent wet grab characteristics and flying splice initiation. This means your tape will grab and hold immediately upon dispenser contact, eliminating false starts and tape waste that delays case sealing cycles. Critical for lines running 2,000+ FPM.
What surfaces does this adhesive bond to effectively?
This acrylic transfer tape bonds reliably to both high and low surface energy plastics, including PE, PP, PET, and other common packaging materials. It also works on paper, kraft, and coated surfaces, making it versatile across multiple product types on a single line.
Why is UV resistance important for my packaging line?
UV resistance prevents adhesive degradation when products are stored in sunlit areas or shipped under outdoor conditions. This ensures your seals remain secure throughout the product's shelf life and distribution cycle, reducing customer complaints and returns due to opened packages.
