Common questions
Will this tape stick to wet or damp cardboard on our sealing line?
Yes. The rubber adhesive bonds on contact to most surfaces including slightly damp cardboard. However, for optimal adhesion on wet surfaces, allow surface moisture to air-dry or wipe with a cloth first. The tape's moisture-resistant vinyl backing prevents degradation even in humid warehouse conditions.
How does this tape perform in our cold storage environment?
3M 764 vinyl tape maintains pliability and adhesion in cold conditions. The 5.0 mil backing resists embrittlement. For sub-zero environments below -20°F, test first. For standard refrigerated (35-50°F) warehouses, performance is excellent with no loss of stick or color fading.
Is this tape compatible with our existing tape dispensers?
Yes. Standard 1" tape width fits all industry-standard manual and automatic tape dispensers. The 36-yard roll length matches common dispenser core diameters (3" core). Verify your dispenser accepts 1" width before ordering.
What surfaces will this tape NOT adhere to properly?
Avoid use on heavily oiled, waxy, or silicone-coated surfaces where adhesive cannot make contact. Rough, highly textured surfaces may reduce contact area. For non-standard substrates, test on a sample case before full-line implementation. The rubber adhesive works best on clean, dry cardboard, plastic, and painted metal.
