Common questions
Will this Kapton® tape work with standard adhesive-tape dispensers?
Yes. The 1 mil thickness and standard 3-inch core are compatible with most industrial tape dispensers used on packing lines. Verify your dispenser accepts 3-inch cores; silicone adhesive feeds smoothly without buildup or slippage.
Does silicone adhesive leave residue on cartons or boxes?
No. Silicone adhesive provides clean removal without residue, maintaining professional appearance on sealed cases and preventing adhesive transfer to downstream equipment or customer-facing surfaces.
What temperature range makes Kapton® tape to standard polyester or masking tapes?
Kapton® maintains performance from cryogenic temperatures to 500°F, far exceeding standard tapes rated to 200 - 250°F. This makes it essential for automotive, electronics, and semiconductor applications where heat cycling, soldering, or powder coating occurs post-sealing.
How does high dielectric strength benefit case sealing operations?
High dielectric strength prevents electrical conductivity issues in sensitive electronics packaging and provides insulation integrity in environments near electrical equipment, reducing product damage claims and improving line safety compliance.
