Common questions
Will this tape work with my existing 2-inch handheld and automated tape dispensers?
Yes. The 3M 764 tape is designed for standard 2-inch core compatibility and feeds smoothly through all major handheld, benchtop, and packing line dispensers including 3M Scotch, Uline, and generic industrial models without adjustments.
How does this tape perform on wet or oily cardboard without edge curling?
The rubber adhesive activates on contact and bonds within seconds, even on damp surfaces. The 5.0 mil vinyl backing resists moisture penetration and won't curl or lift under humidity, making it reliable for cooler warehouse environments and cold-chain applications.
Can I use this for case sealing on machinery that applies tape at high speeds?
Absolutely. The immediate-grab adhesive and smooth vinyl backing eliminate feed jams and wrinkles at line speeds up to 60+ cases per minute. Its consistent thickness ensures reliable performance with both pneumatic and electric automated dispensers.
How many cases can one case of 6 rolls seal, and what's the typical cost per roll?
Each 36-yard roll seals approximately 15-20 cases (depending on closure method). A case of 6 rolls provides 216 total yards, enough for 90-120 sealed boxes. Buying cases reduces per-roll costs by 12-15% versus single-roll purchases.
